Search Engine Optimization (SEO)

You may have a great site, but what's the point if no one can find it?

There are 3 main types of SEO

SERP

SERP stands for Search Engine Results Placement. SERP search engine optimization focuses on a set of particular key phrases. Once these key phrases are determined, we analyze monthly search volume and competition to develop a strategy for making your results for those given key phrases better.

A keyphrase list can be anywhere from a large list down to just one key phrase.

In many cases, it helps to review and analyze your competition – see what they are doing, why it works, and what is not working for them. We can take these results and help kick-start your SERP SEO campaign.

Increasing Traffic

The goal with traffic increase is to, just as it implies, increase the amount of traffic to your site.

You don’t really focus on key phrases with this approach to SEO. Instead, you create and push-out relevant content to social media channels and other sites of interest.

The benefit of increasing traffic is to help your site gain notoriety; this helps your site as a whole rank better with the search engines.

Conversion

The conversion SEO method focuses on getting people to your site who are genuinely interested in what you have to offer and converting them into a client or customer.

Where SERP and traffic increase methods focus on getting large amounts of people to your site whether they are interested or not, the conversion method focuses on a sub-set audience.

With conversion SEO, major changes may need to happen to your site. We will need to evaluate how easy and likely it is for a patron to convert based on what they will experience. For example, if you have 50 pages of content on your e-commerce site and only one link on one of those pages goes to your store, the problem is quite obvious. Most often, the problem isn’t readily apparent so you must review, analyze, and look at your traffic flows, exit pages, entry pages, and more in order to pin down what needs to be adjusted.

SEO Isn't Fast

Organic search engine optimization isn’t fast – as the name implies, it is organic. Meaning it must grow. You must nurture your campaign by closely monitoring findings and results.

Speed of the campaign has many factors including budget competition and the work needed to achieve the goal.

Be Afraid

Be wary of those who promise you page one results within a given time frame.
When talking to agencies about doing an SEO campaign, you should shy away from the ones who promise you page 1 results within 3 months. No one can guarantee this.

As you know, many factors can affect your efforts. You may have some new competition with deeper pockets who jump in front of you and push you down the list. It happens.

SEO is Never Done

Again, SEO is organic; it needs love and attention for the rest of its life and just how the weather changes and plants can either adapt or die, so must your campaign.

Search engines change their algorithms constantly. Which is a good thing! If you do your SEO the right way, most of the time you won’t be affected by the reshuffle. The algorithm updates are there for the users and help eliminate unwanted spam pages.
